Application
Cartap hydrochloride is a Systemic insecticide active by contact and ingestion. Insects discontinue feeding, and die of starvation. Inherently toxic but also degrades, via cyclization, to the natural product nereistoxin, which has the same site of action.
Control of chewing and sucking insects, particularly Lepidoptera and Coleoptera, at most development stages in soybeans, peanuts, sunflowers, maize, sugar beets, wheat, pearl barley, pome fruit, stone fruit, citrus, vines, chestnuts, ginger, tea, cotton and sugar cane, Chilo suppressalis, Cnaphalocrocis medinalis, Lissorhoptrus oryzophilus and rice-leaf beetles in rice and Agromyzidae, Leptinotarsa decemlineata and Plutella xylostella in potatoes, cabbage and other vegetables.
