Founded in 1993 by the late Sri Singavarapu Koteswara Rao, a former scientist at the Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (IICT), Bhagiradha Chemicals & Industries Limited is built on a deep foundation of scientific excellence. Over three decades, the Company has evolved into a research-driven agrochemical manufacturer, navigating industry cycles with resilience, discipline, and foresight.

BCIL specialises in the development and manufacture of high-quality agrochemical technicals and intermediates, supported by strong in-house R&D and non-infringing process capabilities. Continuous investment in process innovation, safety, and regulatory compliance has strengthened manufacturing at its Ongole facility, while phased capacity expansion through its wholly owned subsidiary, Bheema Fine Chemicals Pvt. Ltd., positions the Company for future growth.

1993

Foundation

Bhagiradha Chemicals & Industries Limited was established, marking the beginning of a science-led agrochemical manufacturing journey.

1994-2000

Early Scale-Up

The Company commissioned its first 300 MT Chlorpyrifos facility, launched its IPO, and commenced commercial production, translating vision into execution.

2001-2005

Capacity Expansion

Production Block-2 was constructed, manufacturing of Triclopyr and Fluroxypyr commenced, and products such as Imidacloprid were added to the portfolio.

2006-2010

Portfolio Diversification

Production Block-3 expanded capacity to 3,250 MT, turnover crossed ₹100 crore, and new products, including Clodinafop Propargyl, Cloquintocet Mexyl, and Thiamethoxam, were launched.

2011-2015

Product Depth & Exports

The portfolio deepened with launches of Azoxystrobin, 2,6-Dichloroaniline, Penoxsulam intermediate, and Diafenthiuron, alongside entry into export markets including the United States.

2016-2020

Group Expansion

BCIL expanded its growth platform through a dedicated Fipronil process line, portfolio expansion, entry into the top 1,000 by market capitalisation, and incorporation of a wholly owned subsidiary.

2021-2025

Looking Ahead

Operations commenced at Bheema Fine Chemicals as the Group crossed ₹500 crore in turnover, with capacity expansion underway to support backward integration and portfolio growth.
